The whole world has turned to Sodom and Gomorrah, God is being forcefully pulled out of every aspect of life. Everywhere you set your eyes, no matter how you obtain your news, it all just seems to be devastation driven by evil. Abortion, human trafficking, murder, drugs, pornography are all on a continues rise, hitting new heights daily.
As Christians, we realize the evil around us and choose not to partake, however continuously surrounded, it is impossible to avoid. Why does it seem more than ever that evil is winning? Every generation just seems to be digging deeper and deeper into the pits of hell, being told it’s perfectly fine, assisted by the world in their efforts. Elvis’s hip shaking once censored on public television in the late fifties, to now, little kids twerking on YouTube, as fun laughable entertainment for all ages. It’s increasingly harder and harder to find good wholesome family entertainment without sin, or the worlds agenda trying to be pushed onto us.
Homosexuality is the new normal, speaking out against such abominations is now considered hate, pedophilla is something that should be understood and not frowned upon, as long as it makes you feel good, no one has a right to say it’s wrong, unless you are a Bible following Christian, then you are always wrong and full of hate.
To understand all of this we must look to God’s word and understand his promises to us, even when some seem upsetting, God works all things for good.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28 KJV
The Bible is very clear that our life on Earth will not be easy, in truth as Christians, life will be much harder than for those that are of the world. As Jesus states in Matthew 5:10, the righteous will be persecuted, blessed for being so.
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 5:10 KJV
Of course this is the opposite of what we would like on this Earth sculpted by the hands of God, the Bible in many instants makes it very clear that it is expected, the more and more the world is consumed. To be of the world is to be of Satan, Satan hates you, the world hates you.
“Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.” - 1 John 3:13 KJV
I don’t know about you, I feel outnumbered, this is rightfully so. Even Jesus stated that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” - Matthew 19:24 KJV
The richness of this world is tempting, it’s easier to just give into those temptations than to not, most on Earth will choose to do so and continue to be corrupted by Satans lies. Those that love the world hate God, those who hate God hate you fellow Christian. I see the world as a alcoholic, the alcoholic would rather you give up your life to the liquor and drink with them, than for you to point out their flaw, in an attempt to fix their path. Satan is the lover of destruction, he fuels it with lies and deceit.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” - 1 John 2:15 KJV
God promises us mercy. Take the perfect example of Sodom and Gomorrah from the book of Genesis. These cities had all the sins of today within their walls, stood as the sores of the Earth. Now with the internet, cell phones, technology, transportation, sin is easily accessible and spread across the world, consuming more and more souls.
Abraham, spoke with God and bartered that if even 10 righteous were in the walls that the cities would not be destroyed, God agrees.
“And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.” - Genesis 18:32 KJV
Angels had come to warn Lot, the only righteous of the coming destruction of the city, Lot tried to warn his family, even they would not leave their sins. Lot then left with his wife and two daughters, however his wife looked back, did not truly want to leave her ways and was turned to a pillar of salt.
“And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.” - Genesis 19:16 KJV
God shows mercy for those who follow and obey, destroys those who do not. We are promised eternal salvation while those of the world, eternal damnation. God had to put a end to the cities full of sin because he is also just. Where there is no Justice there is no mercy, to be shown mercy is love and compassion shown to God’s creation by the creator.
Here is the best part of God’s promise we all are looking to. Just like Sodom and Gomorrah God will have mercy on all those that trust and obey, all those who are persecuted for being righteous. Everyone that has done wrong on Earth will get their punishment, God promises us that.
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” - Romans 12:19 KJV
None can hide from God’s justice, even Satan will have his judgment and be cast into the lake of fire.
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” - Revelation 20:10 KJV
Just as the cities the world is filling more and more with those who accept the world as their God, us of the one true God are feeling the labor pains, these pains are the promise of Jesus’s return. It will only get worse before it gets better, as a Christian we can stand tall while they take away our worldly possessions and persecute us in the flesh, for we know the promise of Jesus Christ, we know of our gift of eternal life. The book of revelation has been given to us to as a guide of whats to come, I am seeing the signs more than ever, every day that goes by is another day closer to the return of Jesus Christ to set all things right. We are to stick to his word and promise.
“Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” - Revelation 22:7 KJV
“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” - Revelation 22:12-13 KJV
Evil can never win, when we have the promise of Jesus’s return. It may seem that evil is winning the battle, evil can never win the war. God already has everything planned out, all is perfectly sculpted to work towards the good for us who love him. The only way that evil truly wins over you, is when you give into in and join their ranks. Stand strong Christian, for our promise of salvation and evils damnation is near. Look to the sky, it can only get worse before it gets better, we are told this all through scripture. Read through revelations without fear, take the coming storm and think of the rainbow that comes after. Look to Jesus, treat every day as his return, be excited!
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” - Philippians 1:21 KJV
